Overview

Mera peak located in the Khumbu region of Nepal is considered to be the gateway to Everest. The first to climb Mera peak was a British Army officer, Col. Jimmy Roberts, in 1953. Did you know that the summit of Mera peak, presents you with breathtaking views of Everest, Cho Oyu, Kanchenjunga and Makalu? Taking an expedition to Mera peak could take you to the extremes of cold mountainous weather, thus proving strenuous. Hence, it is recommended that adventurers prepare themselves well in advance.     DAY 1

    Arrival in Kathmandu (1400 m / 4600 ft) and transfer to the hotel. You can relax and take a city tour.

    DAY 2

    We fly from Kathmandu to Lukla. The day involves trekking from Lukla to Chutanga (3450m / 11318 ft.). Camp for the night at Chutanga.

    DAY 3

    After breakfast, we will start our trek for Thuli Kharka (4320 m / 14170 ft.) via Zwatra La and stay in the tented accommodation for the night. Lunch and dinner included.

    DAY 4

    We will trek from Thuli Kharka to – Kothe (4095 m / 13430 ft.), which takes 6 hours and we will spend the night in a lodge.

    DAY 5

    Trek from Kothe to Thangnag (4700 m / 15419 ft.) and will be spending the night in a lodge.

    DAY 6

    Acclimatisation & rest day in Thangnag.

    DAY 7

    After breakfast we will start trekking from Thangnag to Khare (5000 m /16400 ft.), which takes 5 hours. Lunch and dinner is served at the accommodation in Khare.

    DAY 8

    We will start our trek early after breakfast from Khare to Mera base camp (5300 m / 17388 ft) and we will reach Khare in about 4 hours. We will have lunch and later rest for the day at Mera base camp.

    DAY 9

    This morning we will begin our trek to Mera high camp (5780 m / 18963 ft.) that takes 4 hours. We will spend the night in tented accommodation and will be sleeping early.

    We start early around midnight to reach the summit of Mera peak (6474 m / 21247 ft.), which takes 5 hours

    After enjoying the scenic views from the Mera peak, we will start our descent towards Khare and stay in the accommodation for the night.

    After breakfast, start our journey from Khare to Thuli Kharka and explore the region. We will spend the night in the lodge

    Will be trekking from Thuli Karkha to Chutanga. It will take 5-6 hours and the night will be spent at the accommodation

    A short hike from Chutanga to Lukla airport for flight back to Kathmandu.

    Rest day in Kathmandu

    We will transfer you to the Tribhuvan International airport for your flight back home.
